Leucophyllum texanum, Benth. . Loose-growing, straggling shrub, 4 or 5 ft. high in the wild, 8-10 ft. high in cultured: leaves 1/2 - 1 in. long, obovate, narrowed to the nearly sessile base: flowers violet-purple, campanulate, 1 in. long and as much across, hairy within. Spring and summer. CH
