Myrsine guyanensis, O. Kuntze (Rapanea guyanensis, Aubl. Myrsine Rapanea, Roem. & Schult. M. floribunda, R. Br. M.floridana, A. DC.). Glabrous shrub or small tree: lvs. 3-4 in. long, mostly at ends of branches, leathery, obovate-oblong, rounded or notched at top, revolute at margin, rusty and dotted beneath, devoid of pellucid dots: fls. sessile or very nearly so; corolla rotate, whitish, much longer than the purple-spotted sepals: drupe small (1/6in. diam.), bluish or black. S. Fla. to Brazil and Paraguay.
