Salix daphnoides, Vill. Tall shrub, to 30 ft., rarely tree: branchlets yellowish or brownish, bloomy, glabrous: stipules cordate: lvs. short-stalked, lanceolate, acuminate, glandular-serrulate, glabrous, glaucescent beneath, 1 1/2 - 3 in. long: catkins sessile, before the lvs.; staminate nearly 2 in. long, filaments sometimes united at the base; pistillate rather shorter; ovary short-stalked, glabrous, with long style.
