Solanum citrullifolium, A. Br. (S. heterodoxum, Brit., not Dun.). An annual plant armed with straight prickles, glandular pubescent with mostly simple hairs: lvs. 1-2-pinnatifid, the lobes obtuse and repand: infl. racemose, corolla violet, nearly 1 1/2 in. diam., somewhat irregularly 5-cleft, the lobes ovate-acuminate, anthers unequal, 4 of them yellow, the larger one tinged with violet: fr. inclosed in the prickly calyx. W. Texas and New Mex. CH
