Zinnia haageana, Regel (Z. mexicana, Hort.). Distinguished from Z. elegans by the orange-colored fls., which are generally smaller; also the plant is dwarfer, as a rule, and the lvs. are merely sessile, not clasping. Trop. Amer. Var. stellata, Hort. Florets twisted and acuminate, orange-yellow.—This is considered by Robinson & Greenman as a horticultural species not certainly distinguishable from Z. angustifolia, in spite of its broader lvs.
