Leaves have silver marks and wavy margins. It reaches up to {{convert|6|ft|m}} tall and about {{convert|24|in|cm}} wide. Spikes of pale pink flowers appear summer to fall. Cut back flower stalks after flowering, leaving foliage. Divide foliage from October to March. It prefers shady situations and occasional deep watering, but tolerates sunny, dry situations too.
