Pinus excelsa, Wall. (P. nepalensis, Chambr.). Attains 150 ft., with spreading and slightly ascending branches forming a broad open pyramid: branchlets greenish, glabrous, glaucous: winter buds cylindric- pbovate, acute: lvs. slender, flaccid, drooping, grayish or bluish green, 6-8 in. long: cones cylindric on l-2-in.-long stalks, 6-10 in. long; seeds brown, 4 lines long.
