Small). Fig. 3391. From 5-15 ft. high: branchlets without bristles:
lvs. oblong or oblong-lanceolate, acute, sparsely hirsute, 2-5 in.
long: fls. before the lvs.; corolla rotate-campanulate, slightly
2-lipped, divided to below the middle, pale rose-colored, 1 1/2 in.
across, upper lobes spotted, lower lobes widely spreading, divided
nearly to the base; stamens 7, rarely 5. April, May. N. C. G.F. 1:377
