Ribes glandulosum, Grauer (R. prostratum, L'Her. R. rigens, Michx.). Fetid Currant. Skunk Currant. Decumbent shrub with prostrate or spreading and reclining sts. and ascending branches: young growth sparingly pubescent and sparingly glandular: lvs. thin, fetid, orbicular, cordate, deeply 5-7-lobed, with ovate-acute or acutish, doubly serrate lobes, glabrous above, pubescent on the veins beneath, 1 1/2-3 in. broad: racemes ascending, 8-12-fld.; pedicels filiform, glandular, much longer than the narrow bracts; fls. whitish or pinkish; ovary glandular-hispid; calyx-tube cup-shaped; sepals short, spreading, glabrous outside: fr. red, glandular-bristly. Newfoundland to Brit. Col.; south to Mich, and Minn. and in the mountains to N. C. B.B. (ed.2) 2:238.
