Sts. to 3 ft. high, with slender, straight or recurved prickles, often bristly: lfts. 5-7, or sometimes 9 on shoots, obovate to oblong, mostly simply serrate, usually pubescent beneath, 3/4 -1 1/2 in. long: fls. corymbose or solitary, pink, rarely white, 1 1 1/2 -2 in. across, on very short smooth pedicels: fr. globose, with short neck.
