Mutisia clematis, Linn. f. Climbing herb, rather woody, woolly-pubescent: lvs. pinnate, the rachis extended into a tendril; lfts. 4-5 pairs, short-stalked, oblong- lanceolate, mucronate, entire: heads long-pendulous, oblong-cylindrical, nearly 3 in. long and more than 2 in. across the rays, the latter 9-10, bright red, recurved. Trop. Andes. B.M. 8391. G.C. III. 45:415; 54: suppl. Nov. 29 (colored).—A very vigorous grower, making a good cool greenhouse climber.
