A genus of 75 species of weedy plants of the Old World, of which one (B. rotundlfilium, Linn.), is naturalized in the eastern states, and another (B.falcatum, Linn.), is cult, in Japan for greens (A.G. 13:9). Lvs. simple entire, often perfohate: fls. umbellate mostly without an involucre except in the species below; calyx-teeth mostly none. |
