Clerodendron fragrans, Vent. (C. coronaria, Hort.? Volkameria fragrans, Vent.). Pubescent, half shrubby, with angled branches, 3- 5 ft.: Lvs. broadly ovate, with truncate or cordate base, acuminate, coarsely toothed: fls. white or blush, in terminal, compact, hydrangea- like corymbs, usually double, deliciously scented. China, Japan. B.M. 1834.—Very desirable and fragrant plant for the coolhouse. Hardy in S. Lvs. ill-scented. CH
