Aesculus indica, Colebr. Tall tree, to 60 ft.: lfts. 5-9, obovate-lanceolate, short-stalked,finely serrate, cuneate at the base, glabrous ornearly so beneath, 6-10 in. long: panicle to 15 in. long, narrow; fls. about 1 in. long with white unequal petals, the upper with yellow blotch, the lower tinged rose. Himalayas.—A handsome tree with large foliage and showy fls., hardy only in the southern states. CH
