Crataegus Arduennae, Sarg. Shrub or tree, to 20 ft.: branches spreading, forming a round-topped head: spines slender: Lvs. oblong-obovate, acute, acuminate or rounded, crenulate-serrate from below the middle, with obscure veins, 1½-2½ in. long: corymbs glabrous, pedicels slender; calyx-lobes entire or slightly serrate:fr. ovoid, dull dark crimson, about ½in. long, with 1-2 stones. May; fr. the middle of Sept. Pa. to 111., Mich, and Ont. S.M. 373. CH
