Lonicera thibetica, Bureau & Franch. (L. rupl- cola var. thibetica, Zabel). Shrub, to 5 ft., with wide-spreading slender, often procumbent branches: lvs. oblong-lanceolate, acute, rarely obtusish, dark green and glossy above, white- tomentose beneath, ½ -1 ¼ i in. long: peduncle to 1/3 in. long, cupule about half as long as ovaries; corolla tubular-funnelform, pale purple, about ½ in. long, slightly tomentose outside, fragrant; stamens and style included : fr. red. May, June; fr. in Aug., Sept. W. China.—A dense much-branched shrub well suited for rocky slopes.
