Buddleia japonica, Hemsl. (B. curviflora, Andre, not Hook. & Arn.). Three to 6 ft., with spreading quadrangular, winged branches: Lvs. ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, remotely denticulate or coarsely dentate, slightly tomentose or nearly glabrous beneath, 3-6 in. long: fls. in dense, terminal, pendulous racemes, 4-8 in. long; corolla slightly curved, lilac with grayish tomentum outside. Japan. I.H. 17:25. R.H. 1870, p. 337; 1878, p. 330.
