Crinum latifolium, Linn. (C. ornatum var. latifolium, Herb. C. Linnaei. Roem. C. jemense, C. jemenicum and C. yemense, Hort.). Bulb nearly globose, 6-8 in. diam., with a short neck: Lvs. many, strap-shaped, thin, 2-3 ft. long and 3-4 in. broad, slightly scabrous on the margins: fls. 10-20, on a peauncle 2 ft. or less high; tube curved, 3—4 in. long, greenish; segms. about as long as the tube, oblong-lanceolate and acute, 1 in. broad at middle, whitish tinged red. Trop. Asia.—An excellent species; summer; warmhouse. CH
