Cyrtocarpa procera, HBK. Very tall tree, with slender, terete, dark purplish, resinous branches: Lvs. alternate, odd- pinnate; lfts. 5-7 or 9, oblong, entire, with a very slight silkiness, especially below, very shortly stalked, 1 in. or more long, halt as wide: fls. white, inconspicuous, in panicles 1-2 in. long; calyx 5-parted, villous, persistent; segms. roundish; petals 5, elliptic; stamens 10; style 1: fr. the size of an olive, edible.
