Eucalyptus platypus, Hook. (E. obcordata, Turcz.). Tall shrub or small tree: bark smooth, grayish: lvs. petioled, oval to obcordate, very obtuse, 1-2½ in. long, leathery and shining: peduncles winged, recurved; fls. dull red or yellowish white, not conspicuous; lid conic-cylindric, much narrower than the prominently angled calyx- tube; stamens ½-¾ in. long: fr. truncate-ovate, very angular, 4-7 lines thick.
