Iris biliottii, Fost. Lvs darker green, more distinctly striated, and more rigid than in I. germanica, about 20 in. long, 1 ½ - 1 ¾, in. broad: st. several- headed, 2 ½ -3 ft. long: spathe-valves narrow, acuminate, nearly 2 in. long, ventricose, scarious only at the tips: outer segms. obovate-cuneate, reddish purple, with many dark veins; beard white, tipped with yellow; inner segms. orbicular unguiculate, 2 in. broad, bright blue-purple. Late June. Trebizond.— Very near I. germanica.
