Leptotaenia (narrow vittae or oil-tubes). Umbelliferae. Several N. American tall perennial herbs, allied to Ferula and Angelica: glabrous: roots thick and fusiform: leaves pinnately compound: flowers yellow or purple, in compound umbels, the involucre and involucels none or of few bracts: fruits oblong or nearly orbicular, much compressed. Two species were once listed, but probably none is in cultured.
