Lonicera oblongifolia, Hook. Shrub, to 5 ft.: lvs. almost sessile, oval-oblong, obtuse, pubescent beneath, 1-2 ½ in. long: fls. slender-peduncled; bracts and bractlets minute or indistinct; corolla hairy outside, yellowish white, sometimes tinged purplish: berries dark red, usually wholly connate. May. June; fr. in July. Que. to Manitoba, south to Pa. and Mich. B.B. (ed. 2) 3:281. Var. altissima, Rehd. (L. altissima, Jennings). Branchlets and lvs. glabrous. Pa.
