Mammillaria crucigera, Mart. Sts. cylindrical, 4-6 in. high: tubercles closely set, with their axils full of white wool: radial spines numerous, 20 or more, bristle-like and spreading; central spines 4, yellowish: fls. crimson or purple. Mex.—An old species recently intro. into cult.
