Lithospermum officinale, Linn. Gromwell. Much branched, 2-3 ft. high: lvs. lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, 2 in. or less long: infl. sparse; throat of corolla crested with appendages; fls. dull white, small; tube about as long as the calyx. Along N. E. roadsides, naturalized from Eu.
