Oenothera havardii, Wats. Sts. numerous, short, slender and simple or branching, rising from a branching caudex, the plant canescent: Lvs. linear-lanceolate in a rosette, narrowed toward either end, sinuate-pinnatifid : fls. sessile, the buds erect, the calyx-tube with coherent tips; petals ½-1 in. long, yellow turning red: caps. oblong-ovate, 4-angled and ribbed.
