Pelargonium graveolens, L'Her. (Geranium graveolens,Thunb.). Fig. 2847. Much like the last, but lvs. longer-petioled and palmately 5-7-lobed or parted, the broad lobes flat and pinnatifid into many mostly obtuse lobes; stipules cordate-acute: fls. many, on mostly long peduncles, pink or light purple, small, the calyx hairy and nearly sessile, the calyx-lobes half" as long as the petals. —This is one of the commonest forms of rose geranium, a leafy plant with a rather heavy balsamic odor. A If. is well depicted in Fig. 2847. There are many derivatives from it. CH
