Phaedranassa chloracra, Herb. (P. obtusa, Herb. Crlnum quitenge. Spreng.). Bulb globose, 2-3 in. thick: lvs. produced after the fls.; blade 8-12 in. long, 2-3in. wide, oblong- lanceolate and acute, the petiole clasping: peduncle 2-3 ft. long, nearly terete, glaucous; fls. scarlet, tipped green, 6-12 in the umbel, usually drooping, 1 1/2-2 in. long.
