Tree, to 50 ft., with spreading branches and slender pendulous 4-angled branchlets: lvs.light green, closely appressed, ovate, sharp-pointed, glandular: fr. globose, about 1/6 in- thick, dark blue, bloomy, 1-2-seeded. S. Ga. to Fla., Jamaica, Cuba, Bahamas, Haiti. S.S. 14:738.—One of the most beautiful of the junipers, often planted for ornament in the Gulf States, and in the W.Indies.
