Agave filifera, Salm-Dyck (A. pseudofilifera, Ross & Lanz.). Lvs. somewhat upcurved-spreading, oblong-lanceolate, 1-1 1/2 x 8-24 in., with openly grooved spine and rather sparing thin marginal threads: infl. rather stout and dense, 10-15 ft.: fls. maroon, 1 1/2 in.; ovary and segm. 5/8 in. each, tube 1/2 in.- E. Hybrids are reported with geminiflora (X A. Taylori), Ghiesbrechtii, schidigera (X A. Leopdldii II, A. filifera Leopoldii, J. H. 1893, p. 334), xalapensis (X A. Romani) and xylonacantha (X A. Villarum).
