Ramondia pyrenaica, Rich. Sometimes called Rosette Mullein. Fig. 3339. About 3 in. high: lvs. ovate, deeply toothed, hirsute with long rufous hairs: scapes many, several-fld., rarely 1-fld.; fls. purple; calyx and corolla 5-parted, the latter with subobovate lobes. May. Many inferior forms have been sent out under this name. R. leucopetala, Hort., R. peregrina, Hort., and R. quercifolia, Hort., are apparently only forms of R. pyrenaica. Well-grown specimens may have 6-12 scapes, each bearing 3-4 fls. 1 1/2 in. across.
