'''''Mammea''''' is a [[flowering plant]] [[genus]] with about 50 [[species]] in the [[family (biology)|family]] ''[[Clusiaceae]]''. Its members are [[evergreen]] [[tree]]s having edible one-seeded fruits. The [[flower]]s are [[polygamous]], with a globular [[sepal|calyx]] opening into two valvate [[sepal]]s. There are 4 to 6 [[petal]]s. Indehiscent [[drupe]]s are formed, containing 1 to 4 seeds. The leaves are rigid, coriaceous and often have pellucid dots.
One species (''[[Mammee apple|Mammea americana]]'') is found in tropical America and the West Indies, one species in tropical Africa, 20 in [[Madagascar]] and 27 in [[Indomalaya]] and the Pacific region.
