Isotoma (Greek, equally cut or divided; referring to the corolla, and true only by contrast with Lobelia). Campanulaceae. Lobelia-like herbs, but with an entire corolla-tube (or only partially slit), and stamens attached near the top of the corolla: lobes of corolla 5 and nearly equal, spreading; upper anthers with terminal tufts: fls. solitary or in racemes, blue, purple or white (at least in the cult, species): lvs. alternate, entire, dentate or pinnatifid or even twice-pinnatifid: plants of various habit, some species erect, others creeping or acaulescent; annual or perennial.祐pecies 8, of which 6 are Australian, 1 W. Indian, and 1 in the Society Isls.
