Senecio bolanderi, Gray. A slender herbaceous perennial: st. ascending or erect from a creeping rootstock, 6-20 in. high: radical and lower st.-lvs. undivided and crenately lobate -dentate to pinnately divided into oblong-obovate to almost rotund divisions, glabrous above, usually pubescent beneath, including the petiole 2-6 in. long, 1/2 – 1 1/4 in. broad: heads few, radiate, disposed in a corymbose cyme; involucre of about 13 bracts, commonly tawny-pubescent; ray-fls. 5-8, rays yellow; disk-fls. 25-40: achenes glabrous. Calif. and Ore., near the coast. CH
