Adenanthera (from the deciduous pedicillate gland on each anther). Leguminosae. A group of 4 species of tender trees, allied to Mimosa. Lvs. bipinnate or decompound: fls. small, racemose, usually golden yellow or whitish.—The following unarmed evergreen tree is cult, in greenhouses only for its economic interest, and also in Calif, in the open air. Prop, by seeds, which should be softened in hot water previous to sowing. CH
