Lathyrus violaceus, Greene. Sts. slender, shrubby below, 4-8 ft. high, acutely angled: lfts. about 12, elliptic, obtuse with reflexed tips: flowers in racemes. 10-14 in each, 3/4 in. long; violet-blue, banner veined with darker veins.—One of the most beautiful of the California species, native of Los Angeles County.
