Lewisia cotyledon, Rob. (Calandrinia Cotyledon, Wats. Oreobroma Cotyledon, Howell). Leaves obovate-spatulate to orbicular, in a dense rosette: scapes several, to 10 in. high, bearing a panicle; flowers white, the 7-10 obovate or oblanceolate petals pink-veined down the middle; sepals roundish, denticulate; stamens 6—9. Mountains, N. Calif. —Attractive, with its basal rosette and its red-lined flowers standing well above the leaves; produces offsets. CH
