Cocos insignis, Mart. (Glaziova insignis, Hort.). St. 3-6 ft. high, 1½ in. diam.: Lvs. 4½-6 ft. long; sheath densely brown-lanate; petiole shorter than or equaling the sheath, a fourth or fifth as long as the rachis; seems. equidistant, 50 on each side, narrowly lanceolate, obliquely acuminate and caudate, silvery glaucous beneath: spadix about 3 ft. long, with about 50 branches. Brazil. CH
