Gladiolus princeps, Hort. (G. hybridus princeps). Produced by W. W. Van Fleet, from seed of G. cruentus x G. childsii; like the seed-parent in its scarlet-crimson coloring, with white and cream feather markings on the lower segms.: very large, the flat circular bloom expanding to 6 in. diam.: plant very large. G. 24:663; 34:533. Gn. 60, p. 197. G.M. 44:629.
