Platycarya strobilacea, Sieb. & Zucc. (Fortunaea sinensis, Lindl.). Small tree, with upright glabrous branches: lvs. 8-12 in. long; lfts. 9-17, sessile, oblong-lanceolate, falcate, acuminate, doubly serrate, pubescent only on the midrib beneath, 3-4 in. long: fr.-bearing cone about 1-1 1/2 in. long, oval, brown.
