Ranunculus monspeliacus, Linn. Perennial, 1 1/2 ft. high, white-woolly or sericeus: sts. erect, few-fld.: lvs. woolly, ovate-rotund, cordate, the radical 3-lobed, lobes cuneate, trifid or 3-toothed; the upper 3-parted, lobes entire, linear: fls. yellow; sepals hirsute, reflexed; petals obovate: achenes numerous, pubescent, compressed, beak recurved and equaling the carpel; receptacle glabrous; head of achenes ovate. April, May. Medit. region.
