Aloe succotrina, Lam. (A. soccotrina, DC. A. perfoliata soccotrina, Ait. A. socotrina, Steph. & Church. A. vera, Mill.). Scarcely cespitose, the dichotomously branched st. at length 3-4 ft. high: lvs. falcately up- curved, gradually narrowed, pale or glaucous, sometimes white-blotched toward the base, 1½-2x 15-20 in., the margin serrate with small connate white prickles: infl 2 ft. high; fls. 1¼ in. long, light red, the distinct segms. green-nerved.
