Anthericum (Greek, flower hedge). Includes Phalangium. Liliaceae. Non-bulbous liliaceous plants grown in borders and cool greenhouses. Herbs, with tuber-like rhizomes, and racemes of rather small, white, deep-cut fls.: perianth rotate; anthers attached between their basal lobes, and the locules many-ovuled—in these characters differing from Paradisea.—Some 50 species, mostly African, but a few in the western hemisphere.
