Sabal texana, Becc. (S. mexicana, Auth., not Mart. Inodes texana, Cook). Robust palm, to 50 ft. and 2 1/2 ft. diam. of trunk which is bright reddish brown: lvs. 5-7 ft. across, shining and yellowish green, the segms. often parted and filamentose, the petiole stout and equaling or exceeding the blade: terminal branchlets of infl. slender: seed about 1/2 in. broad, with a prominent micropyle. S. Texas. S.S. 10:508.
