Polygonum campanulatum, Hook f. Pubescent or tomen-tose perennial, the sts. creeping or stoloniferous at base, forking above, 2-3 ft.: lvs. stalked, 3-6 in. long, elliptic, lanceolate or ovate, acuminate, the base narrow or rounded, more or less pubescent above and below: stipules large, mostly deciduous: fls. pale pink or red in autumn, in divaricately branched nodding or drooping terminal clusters; perianth campanulate, 1/8 in. long or somewhat larger; stamens 8, with very long filaments. Himalayan region. G.C. III. 52:489.—Variable.
