Lonicera henryi, Hemsl. Climbing or prostrate, half- evergreen: branchlets densely strigose: lvs.ovate- lanceolate to lanceolate, ciliate and usually pubescent on the midrib beneath, 1 ½ -3 ½ in. long: fls. in the axils at the end of the branchlets, often crowded, short- stalked; bracts subulate, short; bractlets roundish, one- third as long as ovary: corolla ¾ in. long, dull purplish or yellowish red: fr. black. June-Aug.: fr. Sept., Oct. W. China. B.M. 8375. Var. subcoriacea, Rehd. Lys. subcoriaceous, ovate-oblong, 2-4 in. long, not ciliate: corolla slightly longer, tube longer than limb. W. China.
