Celtis mississippiensis, Bosc (C. laevigata, Willd. C. integrifolia, Nutt.). Tree, 60-80 ft.: lvs. unequally rounded or cuneate at the base, oblong-lanceolate or ovate, acuminate, usually falcate, smooth above, 2-4 in. long: fr. orange-red, nearly globular, ¼in. thick, on slender pedicel, longer than the petiole; stone pitted.
