Phoenix Roebelenii, O'Brien. Figs. 2918, 2919. Lvs. 1 ft. or more long; lfts. 5-7 in. long, shining, dark green, soft, curved, subglaucous, often approximate, mostly falcate, not spinous at the tip. Gt. 61. p. 392.—This dwarf palm, like a date palm but only about 2 ft. high, is variously understood. Beccari; in Webbia, vol. 3 (1910), treats it as a valid species; but Blatter subsequently, in Journ. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., makes it a synonym of P. humilis var. Lourierii, Becc. CH
