Vicia dumetorum, Linn. Annual, glabrous: st. 1 1/2 - 8 ft. long, trailing or climbing: lfts. 8-10, ovate to oblong: infl. 2- or mostly 6-14-fld.: fls. 1/2 – 3/4 in. long; calyx with very unequal large triangular teeth; corolla purple becoming dirty reddish yellow to greenish: pod oblong to oblong-linear, l 1/2-2 in. long and about 3/8 in. broad; seed spherical, about 1/4 in. diam., dark brown. Eu. R.F.G. 22:253.—Cult. for forage in Germany.
