Rhododendron dahuricum, Linn. (Azalea dahurica, Koch). Shrub, to 10 ft.: lvs. deciduous or sometimes partly persistent, very short-petioled, oval to oval-oblong, obtuse at both ends, revolute at the margin, ferrugineous-lepidote beneath, 3/4-1 1/3 in. long: fls. 1-3 at the end of the branchlets; corolla rotate-funnelform, rose-colored, 1 in. across; stamens about as long as lobes, style longer. March, April. Siberia, N. China, Kamchatka. B.M. 636. L.B.C. 7:605. G.C. II. 17:295; III. 12:701; 53:51. Gn. 77, p. 18. G.W. 7, p. 415. Var. sempervirens, Sims (var. atrovirens, Edw.).
